1/4 – 1/3”green tomatoes slices
1 lg. Egg whisked with a
little milk or half &
half
corn FLOUR not cornmeal
fresh ground black pepper
Seasoned Salt
Buy some beautiful green tomatoes and eggs from your local Farmer's Market. Dip the tomato slices in
the egg-milk mixture, then in the corn flour that's been well
seasoned with pepper and Seasoned Salt. Fry in a little butter mixed
with bacon grease or oil. Fry 8 minutes or more on each side. You
may have to flip these a couple times and cook them a little longer
if the tomatoes are especially hard. Drain on half of a flattened
paper grocery bag for a couple minutes. Fold the other half over and
flip the tomatoes to the dry side. Serve while still hot. They're
good as is or with a little ranch dressing drizzled on top. . .Lin
