A Farmer's Market (inspired) Salad

Ughhh, the only good thing about hot weather 🥵 is. . .it reminds me to eat more salads and go to Farmers' Markets!

I went to our mid-week market yesterday, before it felt like a Sauna outside, and found these beauties! Those tiny turnips are priceless! I've had them in years past from the same farm. I'll steam-sauté the greens separately, soon.

Trips to our Farmers' Markets = lots of great fresh salads! For this one, I started with a couple sliced turnips, purple-green onions and that great lettuce mix. Then, in looking around, I soon realized I'd need a much bigger bowl! I added: tomato, beet, mushrooms, celery + tops, avocado, cubed sheep's milk cheese. All that was missing were cucumbers, black beans and nuts, but it was time to stop. Those will show up in future salads.

I splashed on some EVOO, vinegar, lemon juice, Garlic and Herb seasoning, and some fresh ground black pepper. Mmmm. . .A Big Summer Salad is all I wanted for dinner tonight.

Happy Salad Days! . .Lin
