A Big Farmer's Market Salad ๐Ÿ…๐Ÿฅ’๐Ÿง…

I went to Farmer's Market earlier for a few things then came home and made a wonderful salad using all Duluth, Minnesota area vegetables. This one has cucumber, celery hearts and tops, multi-colored cherry tomatoes and white onion.

Then without even meaning to, as I was eating it I realized I had added several interesting 'international' touches. EVOO from Morocco, white balsamic from Italy, Dubliner (bicycle-on-the-wrapper) cheese which is like a Parmesan-Gruyere blend, Kalamata olives grown in Greece. Then I sprinkled it with fresh ground pepper from Tellicherry, a city on the Malabar coast of Kerala in India and some coarse Alderwood smoked sea salt, also from somewhere exotic, and of course, (sing it with me!) ๐ŸŽถAvocado-+-from-+-Mexico๐ŸŽถ!

I love discovering the details of food origins!

I've heard this particular EVOO comes from trees in Morocco, that struggle hard to produce their olives. Surprisingly, this and the rugged soil and weather conditions, combines for oil containing health-giving properties that are far more superior than more well tended olive trees. All aspects of food science are fascinating. In the summer, Fresh Locally-Grown Is Best! Stop at your Farmer's Market the next chance you get! . .Lin
