This wasn't planned. I was craving something sweet and had nothing in the house except some dried fruit and a questionable looking Bosc pear. I sprinkled the raisins on top as is, but I'd change that (as follows) next time I make this to soften them a bit and create a little syrup.
1 Bosc pear per person
crumbled strong flavored cheese
1/8-1/4 c raisins or craisins for each dessert
Put the raisins in a small pan with a little water and 1T sugar, honey or maple syrup, vanilla, a cinnamon stick. . . Simmer a minute or two, then cover and cool a little. Wash the pears, core, cut them in half or in big chunks into a small bowl. Crumble the cheese on top. When the raisins are still warm spoon over the top with the remaining syrup. Let stand a few minutes to soften the cheese. Pecans, slivered almonds or pine nuts would also be good on this. . .Lin
